first

we will never taste the bitter excitement of illegal alcohol
nor the fear of being touched by a boys adolecent finger tips
there will be no first driving lesson
no brand new school uniforms hanging on the back of chairs waiting to be ruined by dusty corridors and broken chairs
party dresses, with pink birthday cakes, balloons and party bags will all be over now
no posters of ponies and puppies on bedroom walls
a lack of excitement around birthdays and christmas when we realise we're getting older every passing minute
we grew up and we never even noticed
